An excellent amp simultaion plugin, if you are looking for a simple but effective "pick up your guitar and play"-solution. Very good clean, crunch as well as high-gain sounds, natural, realistic sounding, amp-like reaction and behaviour. The switchable V30-cab sim is an additional advantage, although I personally prefer other external IR's over a V30, nevertheless the V30 works very well with these amp tones.

At higher gain settings you might need an additional noise gate, but this may also be necessary with most other high-gain amp sims, but if you download the free Analog Rack Noise Gate and maybe also the Analog Rack Cleaner, they both do a good job to improve the final results.

Simple but effective! Just like a very good real tube amp.

As a multiplatinum producer I have pretty much every amp simulator out there, but Crunck V2 has recently become my go to in my mix template. It just sounds real, and jumps out at you, as if you are in the room with a great amp. Brilliant.

I'd say this is probably, if not definitely, my favourite freeware high gain amp sim. I think it competes well against any free or paid plugins out there. It's very simple and easy to use and sounds great on anything, not just guitars, but also synths and other instruments too. Includes a very nice cab option, but you can bypass it if you want to use an IR loader or other cab options.
